Blessing is what everyone seeks for. But what does blessing mean? And, how do we
find power for blessing and happiness?
Most people consider the attainment of fame, wealth, power and position as a
blessing. But, as Master Sheng Yen taught us, our true blessing is peace, good health,
well-being, and happiness. He also stressed that knowing to be content is the starting
point of blessing; blessing is not be sought without. As long as we acknowledge our
blessings, cherish our blessings, cultivate blessings, and sow the seeds for our
blessings, not only will we ourselves be blessed, we can also bring the happiness of
well-being to our family members and people around us.
As a blessing for 2024, Dharma Drum Mountain has chosen “A World of Blessings”
as its annual theme. Let us together receive Master Sheng Yen’s teaching: knowing to
be content, to be always content; cultivating merit and wisdom; living in calm and
peace, with ease and serenity, thus creating a world of blessings.
